Sicilian pizza has been known to be different from northern Italian or southern Italian pizza that's more common to see. Sicilian pizza is thicker and doesn't normally have cheese on it, but you're more than welcome to sprinkle some on with olive oil. The way my Nonna makes it is with anchovy eggs and it adds a saltier taste to it which is never a bad thing.
Northern Italian pizza has more of the same way of making pizza with a thicker crust but it's normally round and made with the basics of mozzarella and marinara sauce with topping of choice. (usually sausage, basil leaves, or black olives).
Southern Italian pizza has a thinner crust with chunks of mozzarella and basil leaves, which is the most traditional way to have authentic pizza.
I rate Sicilian pizza 4/5 meatballs.
