Gnocchi

Gnocchi is a pasta made up of egg, potatoes, and flour. They are small pieces of pasta that's the size of a thumb. It's made by boiling the potatoes and rolling the dough into little "snakes" like the struffoli is. Then cutting it into thumb tip sizes to throw into a pot to boil.
Gnocchi is a heavier pasta than most because of the potatoes. This pasta is from Northern Italy like most foods and they travel down to the southern parts of the country where they make their own versions. I don't know if this is a southern Italian specific recipe but there are more recipes that use creamy tomato vodka sauces or more cheese in the sauce to give it more of a different flavor than just potatoes.
I give this dish 5/5 meatballs because it is one of my favorite recipes especially if it has a lot of cheese and creamy tomato vodka sauce on it.
